This workshop is organized by CIRMMT Research Axis 1 (Sound Modeling, Acoustics and Signal Processing). It will take place on September 17, 2010, in A832 (New Music Building). This workshop is free and open to all. Registration is required.

Description
This workshop will provide a forum for a discussion on current and future audio signal processing software environments and development platforms. It is organized in conjunction with the Distinguished Lecture of the preeminent researcher Dr. Julius O. Smith, III (which will take place on 16 September 2010). Dr. Smith will provide a brief overview of his recent work with the Faust signal processing language. Other environments / platforms to be discussed will include the Synthesis ToolKit in C++ (STK), Max/MSP, Pd, ... followed by a general discussion of emerging trends and future developer needs.

- 14:15-15:00 Recent & future directions for the Synthesis ToolKit (STK) (presented by Gary Scavone)
- 15:00-16:00 Open discussion on audio DSP developer needs / desires
