Robert Gjerdingen: Gjerdingen reviews Gjerdingen

Robert Gjerdingen presents a talk on his research followed by a public lecture on CIRMMT and the Digital Humanities.

This talk will run from 3:30-4:30pm and be followed by another public lecture by Robert Gjerdingen on CIRMMT and the Digital Humanities from 4:45-5:45pm.

ABSTRACT

Robert Gjerdingen reviews three decades of his publications spanning such diverse fields as ethnomusicology, signal processing, music history, genre categorization, music theory, and music education. A common thread seems to be a fascination with instance or exemplar models. One can also detect an iconoclastic streak.
