For those who are new to CIRMMT or anyone who would like a refresher on the resources available to CIRMMT Student Members and how to access them, there will be a Student Member Orientation Meeting on Wednesday September 22nd from 6:30-8:00pm. This meeting will happen in a hybrid format, both in room A-832, and online via Zoom.

Due to health restrictions, there are only 25 in-person seats available at the meeting. If you would like to attend in person, please fill out this MS form so we know how many of you to expect. If you are not a McGill student and would like to attend in person, please fill out this visitor form 48 hours or less before you arrive on campus. Room A832 is on the 8th floor of the Elizabeth Wirth building, turn right as soon as you exit the elevators, and the room is at the end of the hall. For those of you who will join us remotely, here is the link for the livestream.

Right after the orientation meeting, we will have the first Colloquial Colloquium (COCO) of the academic year. COCO is a place for CIRMMT students to hang out and share works-in-progress, mock presentations, ask for feedback or help, and/or just get to know your colleagues. The first COCO will be all about meeting old and new faces - we will have an open session to ask questions, find out about each Research Axis, their student representative, current funding options that you might be able to access, and some of the current work being conducted. No need to prepare anything, but if you have anything that could use an audience of your peers in a relaxed setting, send an e-mail (maria.c.rodriguez[at]mail.mcgill.ca or tommy.davis[at]mail.mcgill.ca) and we can schedule some brief presentation time. (For future meetings we will have a form to sign up if you have anything to present.) Since we can't serve food or beverages at this time, please have your own wine and cheese at home to keep the tradition!
