Music Perception and Cognition Axis Meeting

Research Axis 5 will hold its Fall general meeting on Friday, December 7th, from 4-6pm at BRAMS (Université de Montréal). The meeting will have an informal happy hour character.

One of the CIRMMT Research Axes (RA5) that has the greatest overlap with BRAMS' areas of interest is Music Perception and Cognition. Research Axis 5 is co-led by Isabelle Peretz and Stephen McAdams and benefits from coordination help from Jessica Phillips-Silver and Susan Rogers in order to reflect this inter-organisational nature. The axis co-leaders would like to use this structure to stimulate collaborative activity in this research area.

To get things rolling, Research Axis 5 is organizing a first general meeting on Friday December 7th from 4-6pm at BRAMS. The meeting will have an informal happy hour character. The aim is to get to know everyone (particularly everyone's grad students and post-docs) and to set up some scientific and pedagogical workshops in the near future. CIRMMT provides a budget of $2,500/year per research axis to cover travel for one (or more) international invited speaker(s) at the workshops and $400/workshop for hospitality (hoping that USherbrooke and UMontreal will also chip in on this expense).

CIRMMT members and students are asked to contact Stephen McAdams or reception AT cirmmt DOT mcgill.ca to confirm their participation.
