This workshop will focus on the practical applications of the free sorting task, from a critical look at questions that should or should not be addressed by the task, to a discussion on how to formulate appropriate conclusions from the data. A guidebook summarizing the workshop will be distributed on Friday, October 12th during the workshop.  Previous workshops in this series have focused on the nature of categorization, and methods for evaluating free sorting results.

Due to the time difference, we will be conducting the workshop together with INCAS3 in the morning, and independently for the rest of the day. Video recordings will be available for the sessions we are not able to attend.

We are looking for volunteers to present any research or experience that pertains to the workshop’s focus. If you would like to present, please contact Daniel Steele by October 1st.

A simple breakfast with coffee and tea will be provided to take the edge off of the early meeting time. Given sufficient interest in extra presentations and discussion, lunch may be provided on Thursday, October 11th.

This workshop has been organized by Catherine Guastavino.
