Description

CLUMEQ is a research consortium for high performance computing (HPC). Founded by McGill University, CLUMEQ's mission is to provide world-class HPC infrastructures to its member institutions, for the advancement of knowledge in all areas of research, and to provide support and training to researchers in order to help them exploit these infrastructures efficiently.  In this presentation we will introduce to the audience to Compute Canada, Calcul Quebec and the CLUMEQ centre at McGill and how they together are providing a national HPC platform in support of research.  The compute infrastructure and resources available to researchers will be described as well as how they can be accessed.  The plans for the growth of the McGill centre in 2012 will be outlined, and will present an opportunity for discussion and feedback to learn about the HPC needs and interests in the future from your department.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER, DR. BRYAN L. CARON

Bryan is the Director, Business Operations of the Compute Canada / Calcul Québec (CLUMEQ) HPC Centre at McGill University. Bryan received his PhD in Physics from the University of Alberta and has been active in the field of High Performance Computing for the last 12 years.
