This full-day event presents the Hearing-Care Platform: A practical and accessible set of tools for the self-assessment of noise exposure. The focus is on hearing conservation and hearing loss prevention and is particularly addressed at youths, young adult musicians, music teachers, audiologists, as well as the general public.

The Hearing-Care Platform aims to raise awareness about noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) and reduce its incidence in the long term by offering technological tools for personalized self-assessment of noise exposure.

The event will be the first opportunity offered to potential users to test the early prototypes of the toolkit components, provide their feedback, and learn more about the World Hearing Day (WHD) message.

This WHD event is sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO). The research is run in collaboration with the Schulich School of Music (McGill), Université du Québec (ÉTS), Université de Montréal (UdeM), and the Association québécoise des orthophonistes et audiologistes (AQOA). It is made possible in part by funding from the Canada First Research Excellence Fund, awarded to the Healthy Brains for Healthy Lives initiative at McGill University.
