A PROPOS DE LA CLAVISPHÈRE

La Clavisphère place le public dans l’aura multidimensionnelle du piano. L’auditoire est invité à s'immerger dans un environnement où l'espace, le son et l'histoire de la musique se côtoient librement. Pendant plus de 600 ans, le clavier a subi de profondes transformations culturelles et technologiques. La Clavisphère transporte donc l'auditeur dans un contexte où l'instrument est déconstruit, non seulement du point de vue sonore, mais aussi au plan de sa mécanique et de la gestuelle qu’elle impose, et de sa capacité de stimuler la mémoire des auditeurs et de raviver leurs expériences culturelles. Chaque pièce du programme adopte une position unique face au piano, offrant une variété de perspectives au sujet d’un instrument qui sert, non seulement d'outil d'expression musicale, mais aussi de symbole culturel.
 

ABOUT CLAVISPHERE

The Clavisphere places the audience within a multi-dimensional aura of the piano. Within this environment, we encourage the audience to experience an immersive relationship between space, sound and musical history. For over 600 years, the clavier has undergone tremendous cultural and technological transformations. Clavisphere places the audience within this context, deconstructing the piano not just from the point of view of its sonority but also its mechanics, associated performance gestures and its ability to speak to our memories, and cultural experiences. Each piece on the program takes its own point of view of the piano, providing further insight into an instrument that has not only become a tool for musical expression but also as a symbol for cultural experience.
