The Colloquial Colloquium - Meeting #4

The fourth meeting of CIRMMT's new series — The Colloquial Colloquium — dedicated to help students through open discussions, feedback, troubleshooting, and community building.

Student Colloquial Colloquium

Do you have an idea for a research project, but want to bounce the idea off of other scholars? Are you having difficulty figuring out how to use a software package or understanding a concept? Are you writing a paper, but confused or blocked in your writing? Do you just want to hear what other CIRMMT members are up to?

Come by CIRMMT (room A832) to grab snacks, chat with colleagues, discuss projects, and find collaborators for your student projects - all within the CIRMMT community are welcome! The next few editions will focus on troubleshooting questions, sharing research interests, and test-driving conference talks. We’ll provide some light food, beer/wine, and soft drinks, but additional snacks are always welcome.

If you have a talk you'd like to test in an informal, supportive setting; a question that you could benefit from peer input; or a discussion topic you'd like to see covered during one of the upcoming colloquiums, in the interest of planning the colloquium we request that you take a moment to add it to the google sign up sheet or send an email to grace.brooks [AT] mail.mcgill.ca.

About the series

The Colloquial Colloquium is an informal monthly meet-up where CIRMMT student members get together for open discussion, feedback, troubleshooting, snacking, and community building. The aim is to provide a welcoming, low-key, and inclusive forum for the CIRMMT student community to gather each month.
