[Online] Workshop: Analysis and modelling of piano action and piano performance, from gesture to sound

An event organized in collaboration with Research Axis 3 (Cognition, perception and movement).

Description

In conjunction with Sylvie Gibet's distinguished lecture rebroadcast and discussion on April 29th, and following a a previous workshop on a similar subject, this workshop brings together researchers in performance studies, acoustics, psychoacoustics, neurocognitive science, biomechanics and kinesiology who are working on the analysis and/or the modeling of any element of the piano/pianist interaction: modeling of the piano action, from the key to the string; biomechanical models of the pianist’s movement; production and perception of piano timbre; multisensory integration of touch, sight and hearing in piano playing; analysis of performance parameters extracted from mouvement, sound and MIDI data; etc.
