Supervisor:    CIRMMT Director / CFI-8 Project manager

Work Location:    CIRMMT

Hours/Week & Schedule:    The schedule and work load will depend on the project’s progress and exact schedule to be agreed with supervisors.

Hourly Wage:    $35.00

Planned Start Date & End Date:    20 March 2016 – 20 May 2016

PRIMARY DUTIES

The audio technology/virtual acoustic integration specialist’s focus will be on the design of the Music Multimedia Room’s future sound system. Duties will include:

•    To establish a technical review of vendor documentation, literature and existing projects

•    To develop and conduct interoperability and integration tests

•    To provide analysis and preliminary recommendations on the sound system architecture, the active enhancement systems, audio networks and control protocols

•    To prepare, in collaboration with the CFI8 team, technical specifications for tendering process

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

•    PhD or Master of Engineering degree and/or equivalent professional experience

•    Substantial experience in spatial audio signal processing

•    Good understanding of active acoustic enhancement systems

•    Solid experience in multidisciplinary research environment

•    Experience in mixed music concert production

OTHER QUALIFYING SKILLS & ABILITIES

•    Fluency with scientific software and knowledge in live audio production environments

•    Bilingual (FR/ENG)

•    Collaborates well in a multi-disciplinary team environment
