The main goal of this one-day workshop will be to present the various on-going projects at BRAMS and CIRMMT and get to know more about the resources and expertise that are developed in various CIRMMT and BRAMS laboratories for the study of keyboard instruments. In the afternoon, we will leave time for discussion.
Topics that will be discussed include:
- Psychology of piano performance
- Acquisition systems for data related to keys, hammers and pedals
- Gestural control of piano timbre and articulation
- Piano acoustics
- Score matching algorithms
- Sound analysis tools (for segmentation and extraction of acoustic and psychoacoustic descriptors)
- Recordings techniques
- Piano pedagody
- Respirology in piano performance
