Julie Cumming (she/her) received her BA in Music at Barnard College, Columbia University (1980) and her PhD in Musicology at UC Berkeley (1987). She has taught at the Schulich School of Music, McGill since 1992. She was Interim Dean, 2016-17, and Associate Dean, Research and Administration in Music 2011-16, 2023-24.
She is chair of the EDI Comittee in the Schulich School of Music (2023-2024) , and a member of the CIRMMT EDI committee.
She is the President Elect of the American Musicological Society, and will serve as President November 2024-26.
