Music has long been central to my academic and personal life, particularly through the innovation and community it fosters. My work with Dr. Araujo and Dr. Cossette in the performance simulator introduced me to how CIRMMT enables investigation of music culture beyond performance itself. I am interested in exploring how conservatory culture shapes the unique stressors faced by young musicians, alongside the cognitive benefits associated with intensive musical training, such as memory and attentional skills.

I hope to further my research journey by examining how students’ identity formation and career aspirations, whether within or beyond music, relate to their mental wellbeing. Currently, I continue to assist with research on performance stress, teacher-student relationships, and physical fitness in musicians, and am always looking for more ways to contribute to CIRMMT research!
