Abstract
The soundscape is composed of complex living systems in which individuals interact moment to moment with each other and with the physical environment. The management and design of the urban soundscape can produce well-being and improve the quality of life in cities.
This talk reviews the conceptions, criteria and methodologies proposed for soundscape research, as well as the applications and results in different urban spaces, leading to a discussion on the current and future challenges of soundscape research.
