Real and virtual acoustic spaces and their occupants

Real and virtual acoustic spaces and their occupants

This workshop is organized by CIRMMT Research Axis 1 (Instruments, devices & systems)

Description

This workshop will examine the relationship between virtual acoustic environments and their physical counterparts, alongside the perspectives of the musicians, composers, and researchers/audio engineers who work within them. Discussions will address frameworks for understanding performance practice and performer perception, the creative deployment of immersive environments, and matters of inclusion and diversity within immersive-audio research, education, and professional practice. Consideration will also be given to the role of emerging technologies and their broader cultural and artistic implications.

Organized in conjunction with the visit of Distinguished Lecturer Jude Brereton, the workshop will feature her participation in discussions arising from each invited speaker’s presentation.
