World Voice Day Seminar

This seminar is co-organized by the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders (SCSD), Montreal General Hospital Voice Clinic together with the Schulich School of Music and CIRMMT. It will take place on April 17, 2015 from 5:30pm - 7:30pm in A832-33 at the New Music Building of McGill University. Registration is required.

Description

World Voice Day (WVD) is a global event to educate the public that VOICE MATTERS! This year the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders (SCSD), Montreal General Hospital Voice Clinic together with the Schulich School of Music and CIRMMT will organize the WVD seminar to promote voice care to the community.

The seminar will include a real singer patient case presentation and panel discussion, singing styles demo and scientific updates on innovative voice and music research at McGill. Leading experts including a laryngologist, a speech pathologist, singing professors and research scientists will discuss causes, risk factors, treatment and prevention of vocal injuries commonly seen in singers, teachers or other voice professionals. The experts will also answer questions about voice from the audience.
