World Voice Day (WVD) is a global event to educate the public that VOICE MATTERS! This year the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders (SCSD) and Montreal General Hospital Voice Clinic, together with the Schulich School of Music and CIRMMT, will organize the WVD seminar to promote voice care to the community.
Voice experts including laryngologists, singing professors, a voice coach from Broadway, and research scientists will explain the causes, risk factors, and treatment for injured voices commonly seen in singers, teachers, voice actors, or other voice professionals. Presentations include demonstration of various singing techniques and scientific updates on innovative voice research at McGill. Participants will also have the opportunity for a laryngostrobocopy examination by laryngologists. The experts will also answer questions about voice from the audience.
