Description
This event consists of two parts, first a technical visit of the Music Multimedia Room (CIRMMT/McGill) with Julien Boissinot (CIRMMT) and Romain Dumoulin (Soft dB), (Francais & English).
This will be followed by a presentation by Dr. Markus Müller-Trapet (National Research Council of Canada):
Everyone’s upstairs neighbours: current studies on the perceived annoyance due to impact sounds
"The National Research Council of Canada has initiated a long-term research project to inform the potential addition of an impact sound requirement in future editions of the National Building Code of Canada (NBC). This presentation provides an overview over the different activities within this project. Preliminary results are presented and discussed regarding the potential implications for the development of a building code requirement.”
