Workshop on Human-Machine Interaction and Music

This workshop is organized by CIRMMT Research Axis 2 (Musical gestures, devices and motion capture). It will take place on April 14th, 2010 at 2pm. This workshop is free and open to all. Registration is required.

CIRMMT Axis II - Workshop on Human-Machine Interaction and Music   

This workshop will focus on aspects of gestural control of sound and the design of digital musical instruments.

Prof. Gunnar Johannsen (Kassel University) will discuss conductor's gestures and their mapping to sound synthesis.

Two digital musical instruments will be presented: the T-Stick (J. Malloch) and the Ballagumi (A. Hollinger). Their designers will comment on design choices and constraints.

An open discussion will follow.
