Aurélie Théroux Sénécal is a Montreal-based digital music composer and sound artist. Their practice explores the sounds of their surroundings and how these sounds evolve and transform within specific environments. Through feedback, analog systems, no-input mixing, and audiovisual technologies, their work investigates the interactions between sound, space, and matter, as well as the listening experiences and perceptual phenomena that emerge from these relationships. Working with raw sonic materials and experimental processes, their practice explores the unstable boundaries between control and loss of control. Questions of memory, identity, inheritance, and social displacement also inform their work.
