It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of communication scholar Jonathan Sterne following a long battle with cancer, on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the age of 54.

"It is with great sadness that I have learned that Jonathan Sterne, our CIRMMT colleague, passed away last evening. Jonathan was an exceptional researcher, beloved mentor, friend and, above all, an amazing human being.
At CIRMMT, we will miss his unique contributions, immense knowledge, kindness, and generous laughter.
We wish Carrie and Jonathan’s family and friends our sincere condolences."
