Opus Prize awarded for live@CIRMMT: De souffles et de machines
On February 1st, 2015 the Quasar saxophone quartet was awarded an Opus Prize from le Conseil Québécois de la Musique for "Concert de l'année - Musiques actuelle, électroacoustique" for the live@CIRMMT concert De souffles et de machines which took place on March 26-27th, 2014.
De souffles et de machines selected as finalist for Grand Prix
Quasar quatuor de saxophones has been nominated for the 30th Grand Prix du Conseil des arts de Montréal for its concert combining high energy and digital virtuosity, De souffles et de machines, presented in the context of Printemps numérique and co-produced by the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music, Media, and Technology.
Spiri drone named top three in Consumer Electronics Show 2015
Spiri, a Pleiades robot whose control system was developed at Concordia University with CIRMMT Regular member Luis Rodrigues, was considered one of the top three drones at the Consumer Electronics Show 2015 by Bloomberg.
CIRMMT FRQ-SC Regroupement Stratégique application exceptional, achieving sole A+ rating
Out of 20 applications received by the FRQ-SC, the assessment committee in charge of the evaluations ranked CIRMMT first with six out of seven categories receiving an A+ rating.

CIRMMT student Dan Steele co-releases article in Le Devoir
Ramdam Urbain is part of a series of Balades at UQAM's Coeur des Sciences where participants from the general public are led on an academic-focused tour through a part of the city led by an expert (or 2) in the field. Dan Steele worked with Romain Dumoulin, researcher and noise inspector for the Plateau, to write the tour. They focus on the potential for sounds to positively transform the city as well as the current frameworks for noise and its mitigation.
The SRMR Toolbox released
The SRMR Toolbox is an open source MATLAB toolbox for objective measurement of speech quality, intelligibility, and room acoustics characteristics.
