Nicolas Girard holds a Bachelor of Music from the Université de Sherbrooke and is a composer of music for film and a multi-instrumentalist. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in composition and sonic creation at the Université de Montréal, with a particular interest in immersive audiovisual works and spatialized electroacoustic music.

He has received two international first prizes in composition: Emancipation (2024) in the Original Composition category and Chemical Somnia (2024) in the Film/Video Game Music category. In the latter, he demonstrated his skills in electronic sounds, mixing, and sound design. Since August 2025, he has been composing the music for short films produced by students at the Concordia University.

During the summer of 2024, he received a scholarship for a research internship devoted to archiving part of the corpus of the Quebec composer Robert Marcel Lepage. Engaged in research, he developed a research project based on one of his works under the supervision of Professor Ariane Couture, which was presented to the academic and scientific community at the 54ème Congrès des archivistes du Québec and at MusCan.
