CIRMMT/BRAMS Workshop on How Musical Training Changes Cognitive Function

This workshop is a joint workshop organized by Axis 5 (Music Perception and Cognition) and BRAMS. It will take place on January 22nd, 2010 at 9am. This workshop is free and open to all. Registration is required.

Description

The workshop will follow the CIRMMT Distinguished Lecture to be given by Dr. Glenn Schellenberg on January 21, 2010. 

The workshop on January 22, 2010 will consist of a series of talks from senior researchers in the area, and student presentations of up-and-coming work. The workshop will end with a panel discussion of conceptual and methodological issues specific to this domain.

  • Erika Skoe, Northwestern University- Effects of musical training on brainstem auditory processing

  • 3:00-4:000- Panel Discussion- Issues and pitfalls of research
