RA4 General Meeting 2025

RA4 General Meeting 2025

General meeting for CIRMMT's Research Axis 4 (Expanded musical practice)

We are thrilled to announce our General Meeting which will take place on November 14th, 2025. All CIRMMT researchers and student members interested in RA4 activities are welcome to attend, as are prospective student members who'd like to get involved in 2025–2026.

General Meeting

We first wish to hear about the RA4 members and their research activities, followed by discussions on various topics including our choices for the Distinguished Lecture 2026–2027.
We will share information on this year's calendar, and we will report on the first workshops that we have realized in the last weeks. We encourage you to contribute with your ideas for further workshops to be realized during this academic year.

Please note that the General Assembly will be conducted both in person in room A832 (8 floor) Elizabeth Wirth Music Building, 527 Sherbrooke O and online via Zoom.

We eagerly anticipate your participation in the General Meeting. We are excited to meet the RA4 members and hear your ideas and insights on how we can make RA4 an exciting and inspiring experience this year.

Distinguished Lecturer

Our research axis shall propose a Distinguished Lecturer relevant to our focus, Expanded Musical Practice. We are requested to provide three-five names in ranked order to CIRMMT Executive Committee. Please email us by November 13th with any nominations for the 2026–27 Distinguished Lecture, or you can also indicate your nomination during the meeting.

Once we have a new list of nominations on November 14th, after the General Meeting, we will circulate it to everyone, and we can cast votes by email/form (deadline to be November 17th). We will use a ranked system and ask everyone for a ranked list of their top three choices. We would also like to take this opportunity to request any suggestions for workshops associated with these lecturers. If you have any ideas, please send them to us by email.

The Distinguished Lecture series has been created as a way to bring expert views, typically of senior researchers to present an overview of their careers and not only their most recent results. This is the reason these lectures are filmed and kept for posterity, leading to a CIRMMT Video Encyclopedia of Science and Technology of Music.

Once again, we look forward to your active involvement!

Best Regards,
RA4 Leaders and Student Coordinators
